The first reason I believe the age of consent should be changed is that people mature at different rates. When does responsibility begin? In most states, 16 is the age to get your drivers license. Although you can learn to fly at ages 14 and 15, even children as young as 11 and 12 can start flying lessons. How are these rules and regulations logical? These are only some of the evidence that the age of consent should be made dependent on an individuals control and ability, rather than their birthdays.

PERSUASIVE ESSAY BODY PARAGRAPHS
The age of Consent is the minimum age in which one can consent to a sexual act. The age of consents purpose is to protect minors from sexual predators. This law has been abused by regarding censual sex; where both the minor and legal age participant agree to the act and it is not forced. The age of consent should be changed when one considers the evaluation of maturity, unjust laws, and varying circumstances.

AGE OF CONSENT PERSUASIVE ESSAY
The age of Consent is the minimum age in which one can consent to a sexual act. The age of consent’s purpose is to protect minors from sexual predators. The age of consent should be changed when one considers the evaluation of maturity, unjust laws, and varying circumstances.
The first reason the age of consent should be changed is that people mature at different rates. When does responsibility begin? In most states, 16 is the age to get your drivers license. Although you can learn to fly at ages 14 and 15, even children as young as 11 can start flying lessons. How are these rules and regulations logical? These are only some of the factors that prove the age of consent should be made dependent on an individuals control and ability, rather than their birthdays.
The second reason the age of consent should be altered is because of unjust laws. The laws we currently have accuse the older partner as a molester. By definition a molester is one who subjects a minor to unwanted sex or improper sex. This law has been abused in the regards of consensual sex; where both the minor and legal age participant agree to the act and it is not forced. It is understandable that sex should not be permitted to young teens, although that should not give us the right to manipulate laws.
Circumstances should also determine whether the age of consent is applied. The age of consent is used to protect victims of sexual assault and/or rape. When sex is not forced or manipulated the age of consent should not be applied. For example, if an 18 year old has sex with his girlfriend who is 16 years old and the sex is in no way forced; the age of consent law should not apply. In this common situation there is not a victim who needs to protection. Both parties are innocent of crimes. A situation where the age of consent is effective is when an 18 year old or older forces or manipulates sex on a minor. In this situation there is a victim, the minor, and a criminal, the molester.
The age of consent is faltered when one considers maturity, unjust laws, and circumstances. Sex at a young age is not desirable but it does happen; more than half of teens under 18 years old have consented to sex. The age of consent law is unlawful because it manipulates and convicts innocent people.

Harlem Cowboy Response
In the story Harlem Cowboy, a comedian visits a small town in Oregon. On his visit, he is out of his element regarding his race, but he still enjoys himself. He discovers that the stereotypes he believed about country people weren't true; and they also learned the same about him. He experienced how kind and caring they were when he visited during 9/11. The town was so concerned for him and his family that they shut down the rodeo, until he could get in contact with his family back in New York. He now visits every year, and considers them family.
Response to Wonder Woman
In the story Wonder Woman, Zora explains her life wanting to be a super hero. She had a reoccurring dream that a magic ball(which she has tattooed on her arm) gives her super powers. She was so infatuated by the idea, she devoted her time to learning skills such as car driving tricks, surviving in the wilderness, haunting animals, and doing things Indiana Jones would do. Graduating from high school at fifteen; she didn't make time for friends, boys, or a social life. She made lists, that improved and altered on what she would learn next, her deadline to learn it all was at age twenty two. To put her skills to good use, she decided to be a CIA agent. Sadly, she wasn't approved. She then decided to remake herself, realizing everything she had worked for was virtually for nothing; she moved her career in a different direction, and became a private investigator. She is now happy with her work, although she still continues her lists, she does not take them as seriously.
Mosh by Marshall Mathers and performed by Eminem:
In the video Mosh, there was a lot of war symbolism. It was also very clear that the artist did not approve of Bush's role as a president, and did not respect his decision in sending American troops to war in Afghanistan. The dominant message was that we, the people need to stand up and protest our beliefs. It showed how the decisions of our former president Bush has made despair in the lives of innocent people. In the video the "victims"' of Bush wore a black hoody and marched/moshed together to stand up and provide a change and hope for the people.
1 Trillion Dollars by Justin Sane and performed by Anti-Flag:
In the production 1 trillion dollars it symbolized American greed. It showed what our country, and people in general would do for money. In the video a child signed her life away for a trillion dollars and was killed. I believe this symbolized how people are willing to give their life for money. Also the phrase "F*** the world, a lot of people gotta die tonight....F*** the world" symbolizes how people lose sight of the people they care about and the important things in life. While they are getting money and power they don't care who they hurt while they are doing it.
Catcher in the Rye responses:
I can relate to Holden because if I were to speak of my parents’ personal life they would also get upset. I can relate to his school, because I have been to girl scouts camp, and there are only females. I can relate to crooks because I have been around them while in school. I also know someone who was kicked out of school for not applying himself. I can also relate to his personality because I am a teenager.
While reading this I learned that the main character, Holand is careless about school. He doesn’t care if he fails all his classes; even when he was told he would be kicked out if he didn’t apply himself, he didn't care. I also think that he wants to be kicked out; he has already been to four different schools. While speaking with his teacher he pretends to be sorry for slacking, when really he is just telling him what he wants to hear. What I believe will happen next is that he will return to New York to find his parents away on vacation; still not knowing he has been kicked out.
"I flunked you in history because you knew absolutely nothing". In this quote Holden is saying goodbye to his teacher Spencer. In the quote Spencer is lecturing Holden about an exam he had turned in. I choose this quote because it expresses how the teacher felt about him. I believe that he had higher expectations for him. He also knows his strengths and that he could’ve easily done better in class. Mr. Spencer didn’t enjoy flunking him; I believe he wanted him to stay at Pencey.
"Well. You could see he really felt pretty lousy about flunking me. So I shot the bull for a while. I told him I was a real moron, and all that stuff. I told him how I would've done exactly the same thing if I'd been in his place, and how most people didn’t appreciate how tough it is being a teacher. That kind of stuff. The old bull.” I choose this quote because it tells you that Holden just wants to tell Mr. Spencer what he wants to hear. He doesn’t care that he is failing, or that he is being kicked out of Pencey. I believe he wants to be kicked out; he has had previous trouble with other schools.

While reading this story I have realized that Holden has a caring heart. He loves kids and wants to keep them safe and innocent. In the story Holden mentions a vision of him and a bunch of little kids playing in a field of rye on a cliff. The kids are playing ball and being careless, when one of them are about to fall off he comes out of nowhere and catches them. All he wants to be is the “Catcher in the Rye”. I thought this was a great way to describe his love for children. He is always looking out for them. He scrubbed off an “F*** you” that someone had written on his younger sisters Phoebe school wall. It frustrated him because he thought his little sister may see it. This shows how he wants to keep his little sister, and other younger kids innocent. Holden also trust children more than adults, he believes kids are the only people who are not phony. Adults are phony when they pretend to be something they are not. Or put on a fake attitude. Near the end of the story Holden starts acting strange. He pretends there are bullets in his guts for no reason; he also is scared to cross the street. He thought when he crossed he would fall into the ground, like keep descending before he made it across. He talked to his deceased brother Allie and told him “please don’t let me fall Allie”. He also fanaticized about funning away and pretending to be a deaf mute. He said he wouldn’t talk to anyone and if someone wanted to say something, they would have to write it down. He also said he would marry a mute wife, and if they had kids they would hide them. He would teach them how to read to occupy their time. I thought it was an abnormal thing to think, and maybe he needed some counseling.
The Best Unfortunate Events
The Best Unfortunate Events
One day my brother London and I were very bored. We decided to go to our best friend’s house. Their names were Christian, who was my friend, and Mario, London’s friend. They were brother and sister and always knew how to have fun! We loved playing with them and getting into trouble together.
We hung out at their house for a couple of hours. Their house was right above mine on a hill. If I looked out my bedroom window, I could see their house. Their house wasn't very clean and there were roly polys on the living room floor. London and Mario wrestled each other while Christian and I played frogger on the computer downstairs. We ate pickles; it was one of our favorite snacks. They were the good kind that were big and juicy, with not too much but just enough sour. We went to the park and Mario peed on the metal jungle gym. We didn't really care though because it was already rusty and my favorite thing was and still is the swing set. Christian was the tallest, so she gave me underdogs on the swings. Afterwards, we climbed trees as high as we could and got our hands all sticky with sap.
When we got bored with that, we thought it would be a good idea to visit the horse stable that was down the road. We wanted to pet them but we were too scared to go through the fence. We finally dared Mario, who was the most daring person I’ve met to open the gate. He did and we all started running as fast as we could! We wanted to escape the stampede.
When we thought we ran far enough we slowed down and laughed our heads off. By then it was dark, and bats were out. London told us if they fly low enough they can get caught in your hair, because they can’t see very well. At that we all started running hysterically. Christian and I kept waving our hands over our heads to make sure no bats were close.
We outran the bats and ended up back at my friend’s house. All of a sudden it started pouring down rain. We didn’t feel like going back home or inside so we just decided to keep hanging out. We stayed out past our bedtime riding our scooters and playing ball. We were enjoying each other’s company so much, we didn’t want to leave. My brother and I ended up staying the night with them and having a blast! Even though a lot of crazy things happened who most would say are unfortunate, I had the best time!
